LED Light Therapy Treatment  

LED Light Therapy is a painless, relaxing, non-invasive skincare treatment that has multiple benefits; particularly, the stimulation of collagen and treating mild to moderate acne.  LED treatments work by using an array of bright light-emitting diodes that send low level energy into the deeper layers of the skin. 

 

The CONTOUR device has LED bulbs that emit both red (633 nanometers) and near-infra-red (830 nanometers) wavelengths of light.  Red light helps prompt cellular repair and circulation. Near-infrared light stimulates new collagen and elastin production, resulting in plumper, firmer, more youthful-looking skin.

 

The CLEAR device has LED bulbs that emit both blue (415 nanometers) and red (633 nanometers) wavelengths of light. Chemical Peel Treatment

A chemical peel is a treatment used to improve and smooth the texture of the skin.  Ultimately, the goal behind peels is to treat scarring, pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles by removing the outer most layers of the skin.  To accomplish this task, the chosen peel solution induces a controlled injury to the skin.  Treated areas will take anywhere from 1-7 days to heal and shedding will occur between 3-7 days depending on the strength and intensity of the peel that was chosen.

Pre-treatment

* arrive with clean skin free of creams or make-up

* inform us about any changes in your medical history since your consultation (ie: medications)

* must wait 4-6 weeks after injectables 

* discontinue use of any retinoids, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, pimple or dark spot creams, and avoid sun exposure (primarily sunburn), 3 days prior 

* avoid waxing, depilatory creams or devices 5-7 days prior 

* people with the following conditions cannot be treated with micro-needling:  cold sores or warts in the treatment area, sunburn, open wounds, excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis, inflammatory rosacea or pregancy.

       

 Post-treatment                                                                                                  * absolutely no sunscreen for 48 hours (avoid sun exposure)

* cleanse with cool water, gentle cleanser and pat dry, no sooner than 4 hours after treatment

* apply solely the gentle products recommended by your aesthetician for 3-5 days following your  treatment 

* may wear mineral make-up after 24 hours

* be diligent with applying sunblock after 48 hours (1/4 teaspoon including neck and decollete)

* avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin or Advil following the treatment as they will interfere with your skin's rejuvenation and regeneration process. 

* sensitivity and redness may be present for a few days

* use only Tylenol if needed for discomfort

* avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours  

*dryness, flaking or bruising  are normal but will improve over the next few days. Simply moisturize more heavily as the skin regenerates.

* the skin will begin to peel in 3-5 days. DO NOT scratch or pick at it, but rather, moisturize heavily and frequently.  

* avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours  

* cleanse with cool water, gentle cleanser and pat dry, no sooner than 4 hours after treatment

* may use cool compress after 4 hours if needed for any discomfort, burning, redness or swelling

* use products appropriated to the peel 

* avoid sun exposure and be diligent with applying sunblock (1/4 teaspoon including neck and decollete)
